Affiliated to the Civil Engineering Department (IEI) of the Aeronautics Institute of Technology (ITA), the Air Traffic Management Laboratory (LABGETA) was founded in 2012 in order to gather human and material resources for research in air traffic management.

Our mission is to address current and future problems and challenges faced by the air traffic management system towards keeping up with air transportation industry evolution and enabling the continued growth in air traffic while meeting increasingly stringent targets on efficiency, safety and environmental impact.

For this, our research focus is on the development and application of quantitative methods and computational tools for advanced analysis, prediction and control of air traffic operational performance, with the overarching goal of continued system improvement.
